The Mind Behind the Mansion

I'm Sara Hofman, a middle school math teacher with 15 years of classroom experience in Fairfax County Public Schools, a Teacher of the Year nominee, and the person your students voted "Most School Spirit," "Kindest Teacher," and "Best Sense of Humor" three years running. I built Math Mansion because I got tired of spending my Sundays making resources from scratch — and I figured if I needed them, every other middle school math teacher did too. Now, mathmansion.com is a national leader in providing middle school math resources for teachers across all 50 states, and even internationally.

Every resource in this store comes from a real classroom, tested on real students, by a teacher who knows what actually works.

About Sara

Before starting Math Mansion, I spent 15 years in Fairfax County Public Schools teaching middle school math, serving as an Assistant Principal, leading a pandemic learning recovery program for special education students, developing high-stakes district assessments, and somehow still finding time to be voted Kindest Teacher, Most School Spirit, Most Understanding, and Best Sense of Humor by my students.

That experience taught me exactly what teachers need — and what they don't have time to make themselves. In 2024 I founded Math Mansion to fix that. Every resource here is built from real classroom experience, tested on real students, and designed to make your life easier without sacrificing engagement or rigor.

Currently based in North Carolina, I work with students one-on-one while building Math Mansion's library — with instructional videos and notes packets coming in 2027.
